Faust announces retirement

A well known Tech. Ed. teacher announced his retirement earlier this week.

Mr. Robert Faust will be ending his teaching career at the end of this school year. Faust has been teaching in the Mehlville School District for 12 years now. He has taught woods classes, Home Maintenance, Mechanical and Architectural Drawing, Intro. to Engineering Design, and Intro. to Computers. Prior to teaching at OHS, Faust spent 25 years working at City Hall, Typesetting, and running his own remodeling company.  He also spent 8 years teaching social studies classes in the city.

Although he has made many memories, a few standout more than others. Some of his proudest moments are having two students place third at nationals in the NAWIC design competition. He is also proud of being on the teachers negotiation team for seven years.

“I’m getting old. I’ll be 65 in August,” said Mr. Faust. “I just feel it’s more game for young people.”

Like any retired person should, he has very simple plans for retirement. He plans to get healthier. He also plans to improve his golf game.

Speaking from personal experience, his classes are always interesting and this school will be different without him.
