Being the only returning state qualifier from last year, OHS wrestler Jon Bromeier (11) is off to a fast start.
In the Tigers first match at Northwest last Wednesday, Nov. 30, Bromeier, heavyweight Jimmy Broderick (11), and freshman Tommy Suda all won their match. In the 138 weight class, Bromeier did not have an easy road ahead of him, going up against another returning state qualifier. Bromeier stood up to the challenge and won the match 7-0, giving him his first win of the season.
“He wrestled a very sound match and was in control the entire time,” head coach Brett Lieberoff said. “He never let it get out of hand.”
The Tigers next meet is today at OHS. The match will be in support of breast cancer awareness and varsity wrestlers start around 7 p.m.
