Eight members of the girls track team, including Ne’Kole Harvey (11), qualified for sectionals at Poplar Bluff on May 19.
Harvey qualified in four events including the 100 meter, 200 meter, 4X100 meter relay and the 4X200 meter relay. At the district meet at Lindbergh on May 12, Harvey won first place in the 100 with a time of 12.35 seconds. She then captured first place in the 200 with a time of 1:47.13, which was the team best for the season. Harvey helped the 4X100 relay team run a 50.99 and the 4X200 relay team run a 26.02, qualifying both for state and winning second in districts.
“Her talent is limitless and she has yet to reach her potential,” head coach Mike Bishop said.
The sectionals meet will be in Poplar Bluff on May 19 with the state meet the following weekend at Jefferson City.
