The OHS boys swim team headed to the Lindbergh pool for the preliminary session of conference on October 29.
After finishing the session, seven of the boys qualified to swim again in the finals session. However according to Coach Dan Schoenfeldt, a swimmer that stood out was Preston Donjon (12). He is ranked sixth in the 100 backstroke, dropping another second off of his time. Also, Dillon Werner (12) had a great meet, making it back in the 50 freestyle.
On Thursday, the team is hoping to get more qualifications for state. They are aiming to get two relays to state, only being a few seconds away. Plus, many of the swimmers are getting close to the qualifying time.
“I want to get the 200 freestyle relay and the 200 medley relay,” Brian Woods (12) said. “Everyone can swim better than they did Tuesday night. We just need to get it together.”
