On Dec. 5, OHS and Lindbergh High School teamed up to raise money for Type One Diabetes research. Along with raising money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) there was a dual, and OHS won 40-31.
The dual went well for OHS with wins from Aaron Hinson (11) at 182, Dan Zehnle (12) at 195, Tommy Suda (10) at 113, Austin Neal (9) at 126, and Nic O’Neil (11) at 132.
“I feel like we have a strong team coming up,” O’Neil said. “If we work like we did last night we will do big things.”
Suda and Neal both received technical falls. Suda won 16-1 and Neal won 20-5. Another big win was at 132 where O’Neil won 10-1.
OHS and LHS raised approximately $700 for JDRF. Along with admissions going towards JDRF bracelets and shoe posters were sold to raise money.
All in all the dual was a success. OHS won in the wrestling and JDRF won by gaining research money.
