The OHS volleyball team is off to an impressive 5-1 record to start the season. The Tigers beat Fox 2-0 on April 9 at OHS. A key contributor to the success has been top player Jake Duckworth (12).
“He has been dominating, especially with six aces against Fox,” teammate Brian Tate (12) said.
Duckworth is leading the area in average kills per game with 5.14. He’s also eight in the area in ace average with .71 per game.
“I’ve been keeping my head straight and feeling more comfortable with my serves,” Duckworth said.
The Tiger’s next game is April 10 against Seckman at 5 pm. According to Duckworth, the team’s goal is to be 9-1 by the end of this week. Next week, the Tigers face three tough opponets in Lindbergh, CBC, and Mehlville.
“In order for us to beat those teams, we have to go into those games with momentum,” Duckworth said.
