The boys tennis team did not have the best start to the season, but finished strong and won the team district title, sending the top seven seeds to sectionals.
The boys came out of the gate slow with a new coach and new system. They began picking up steam though, fighting through rough weather conditions and the disappointment of not being able to play on their new courts at Benard Middle School.
“Practice, practice, practice,” said Steve Hanna (12), “We have to be mentally tough and keep are cool.”
The boys team now advances to sectionals taking the top seven players from the team. Key players include the Kalinowski twins, Matt and Christian (10), Hanna, Matt Garavaglia (11) and Nick Lansford (11).
“We have great team chemistry and want to advance farther,” Hanna said.
