To some, fall is simply the season when schedules become packed with commitments, summer tans begin to fade away and studying dominates free time. However, it carries a much more heartfelt meaning for others — fall can be a time of coziness surrounded by the warmth of the people you love most. Several girls at OHS find that fall has created meaningful rituals and traditions that they share with their best friends.
Capturing the Moment
Elmedina Elijazovic (11) – “My favorite places to take photos for fall with my friends is for sure Old Webster Groves. It has such a small town feel with their record store, bookstore and little boutiques scattered on the street. They usually have live music, and when the leaves change colors, it really has the fall feel.”
Quinn Dillon (12) – “We love to take fall pictures at pumpkin patches, specifically Stuckmeyer’s or Eckert’s.”
Sophia Smith (11) – “[We like taking] photos at the pumpkin patch or around the fire.”
Creating Fall Confections
Elmedina Elijazovic (11) – “Usually during fall season, me and my friend bake chocolate chip cookies or cinnamon rolls since we don’t really like pumpkin flavored things.”
Quinn Dillon (12) – “We love to try new fall recipes we find on TikTok. My favorite one I’ve made were pumpkin chai cupcakes. A couple times me and one of my close friends, Charlotte Dickemper (12), baked brownies with the Halloween themed Oreo cookies, and most recently me and my best friend, Ayanna Lyons (12), made the Pillsbury sugar cookies with the pumpkin designs.”
Sophia Smith (11) – “We enjoy making s’mores during the fall season.”
Getting Cozy with Shows and Movies
Elmedina Elijazovic (11) – “During the fall season, I always rewatch ‘Gilmore Girls’ with my friends. Whether it be in the background while we’re studying or while we’re baking, it is always on during fall.”
Quinn Dillon (12) – “We love to watch the occasional horror movies, such as ‘Scream’ or ‘Get Out,’ but we also love to watch lighthearted things like ‘Gilmore Girls.'”
Sophia Smith (11) – “A show that we enjoy watching during fall is ‘Gilmore Girls.'”
