Assemble the Spirit

A pep rally kicked off Homecoming weekend for OHS on Friday, Oct. 3.

Oct. 3 and 4 was a weekend of football, dancing, parading and fun. The traditional homecoming pep rally continued to set the atmosphere high for students and teachers this year.

Within the first five minutes, there were students throwing pies in teachers’ faces, teachers walking down the stadium steps in clown costumes with silly string, and great routines from the cheerleaders and golden girls.

After not having a fall sports assembly last year due to powder puff complications, students were wondering all week if we would be able to have one again. When we were, the expectations were high and they were all reached.

“It was fun and creative,” Tyler Hicks (12) said.

Eric Tate (12) announced the assembly. It started by getting the staff and students involved with a game, then a routine from cheer and golden girls. The fall sports players got to introduce themselves and say how their season is going, and the Homecoming court was introduced.

The pep assembly was a good way of getting everyone excited for the events that followed that weekend.
