Sahnam Mohabbat (11) is an artist who likes to draw art on paper and on her iPad. Mohabbat began drawing as a young child. She has always had a passion for drawing and she found it so beautiful how you could draw something so appealing with just paper and a pencil.

“Ever since I was three, my grandparents were very busy people, so to keep me busy they gave me art supplies,” Mohabbat said.

Mohabbat has adapted her own style of work off of other people and combining her own elements. When it comes to art, there are many styles that artists can implement. Many artists tend to do multiple styles, but for Mohabbat, she has her own preference.

“People…I mostly draw people who I think would look good as characters,” Mohabbat said.

Mohabbat repetitively draws people in her everyday life, which has helped her artistic development. She can even draw multiple sketches of a person in five minutes.

“[I am inspired by] just the people in my everyday life…” Mohabbat said. “Some examples are I have drawn [Samer Mashay], and I draw my family and friends.”

While Mohabbat enjoys looking at other styles of art, she feels that her artistic style is different because she implements multiple different styles of art from many different pieces of work. She feels the joy of drawing is always improving and expressing yourself thoroughly and uniquely.

“I’ll look at other artists, but I don’t particularly fit in any category,” Mohabbat said. “I kind of do my own thing.”
