Winter Spirit Week prevails despite dance cancellation

Winter Spirit Week prevails despite dance cancellation

On Monday, Feb. 6 the OHS Student Council (StuCo) will be kicking off their annual Winter Spirit Week.

Every year, StuCo hosts one weeks with an array of activities to pump up the student body. Normally, the week ends with Winter Dance. This year, the dance was canceled because of lack of attendance and profits.

Despite this, StuCo co-sponsor Mrs. Jenn Fruhwirth said, “We still wanted to keep it  [Winter Spirit Week] because it helps promote other things. We’re going to see how it goes this year.”

This year, from Feb. 6-9, the activities will include Pajama Day on Monday, Pink Day on Tuesday, Hat Day on Wednesday, favorite band t-shirt day on Thursday, and Black and Gold day on Friday.

Also happening that week will be Coaches vs. Cancer on Tuesday night and Battle of the Bands on Thursday evening.

“I’m really hoping they [StuCo] can get more kids involved,” Fruhwirth said.
