DECA will be sending four representatives to State after a very successful day of DECA Districts competition.

Four of the eight participants in DECA districts will be heading to state after a dominate performance Feb. 10 at South County Mall. Madison Stinnett placed first in food marketing and Brittany Cox placed second in quick serve food marketing which qualified them for state competition. Trishia Williams and Julia Williams also qualified for state.

“I wasn’t  expecting to do that well but I was really excited how I placed.” Stinnett said.

The Deca’s Coach, Mrs. Jana Shuey, was very pleased with how her team performed this year during their second year of competition.

“They’re fabulous and they worked really hard for this.” Shuey said.

Stinnett will travel to state competition March 15-17 where she placed sixth last year and is hoping to improve.

“I really hope to improve from last year and I think I’ll do well!” Stinnett said.
