Assistant Principal Mr. Brian Brennan addresses the school board along side the rest of the committee at the meeting on Dec. 14.

After many complaints from OHS teachers and students about the new C-day scheduling, the Mehlville School District Board of Education decided during its meeting on Dec. 14 to decrease the number of C-days second semester.

The school board unanimously voted 7-0 to accept the proposal from the High School Schedule Review Committee. Instead of having the 21 C-days that were originally scheduled, second semester will only contain four.

“After our committee voted to not move forward with the flex, there was little reason to maintain C-days,” said assistant Principal Mr. Brian Brennan, who was also a member of the schedule review committee. “The admins from both schools on the committee discussed which dates would be appropriate to have a C-day.”

The committee decided to have C-days on Jan. 8, March 19, April 4, and May 3. The January and April dates are due to returning from breaks, and the March date is in order to have a B day for the half day on March 21. May 3 corresponds with Mehlville High School’s Special Olympics.

The board also accepted the committee’s proposal to return to the original A/B block schedule for the 2018-19 school year.
