A winter formal poster hangs in the hallway to spread awareness for the dance.

Typically it is the guy building up the courage to ask the girl to the dance. Not this year.

OHS is hosting its very own Sadie Hawkins Winter Formal. A Sadie Hawkins dance is is a dance where instead of the traditional, guys ask the girls, girls must ask the guys to the dance instead.

Each couple also has the opportunity to be crowned king and queen, no matter what grade level. In order to be in the running to be crowned, students must post their proposals on instagram and hashtag them to #OHSWinterFormal2018.The pair with the most likes will be crowned king and queen of the Winter Formal.

Today (Jan. 25) and tomorrow (Jan. 26) are the last opportunities buy tickets at the Claw Mart during lunches for $10. Tickets will not be sold at the door. The dance begins at 7 pm in Gym A on Jan. 27.

This dance is predicted to be more successful and popular than past winter dances.

“The past few years Stuco has tried to put on an informal dance such as the Glow dance,” Stuco Sponsor Mrs. Kelli Roberts said. “We have not had big turnouts for them, but we are hoping that by switching to a more formal dance and crowning King and Queen from Instagram votes, we will attract more students to want to attend.”
