OHS students journeyed “Under the Sea” for the Homecoming dance on Saturday, Sept. 29.

Students came for a night filled with music, dancing, and chatting with peers while the commons was decked out in ocean-themed decorations. At 8:30 pm, the students gathered below the stage as their 2018 Homecoming King and Queen were announced.

The girls nominated for Queen were Nicole Schmitz, Delaney O’Neill, Allison Streb, Maddie Spitznagel, and Haedyn Kirkpatrick. The students cheered as O’Neill was announced as Homecoming Queen.

“It was really just an exciting moment,” said O’Neill. “I didn’t expect it all so I was really surprised…”

The boys in the running for Homecoming King were David O’Donnell, David Cormack, Connor Jones, Enrico Jones, and Sam Gandhi. Gandhi was crowned as Homecoming King.

“I felt extremely overwhelmed and surprised. I didn’t expect to win at all,” said Gandhi. “ The process of planning and executing Homecoming was super stressful, so it felt great to win. In that moment, I knew everything paid off.”
