While coming in second place at sectionals and third place at districts, runners Jake Bast (11), Nick Creahan (12), Luke Miller (11) and Elvir Sarajlic (9) qualified for state in the 4×800 relay.
“We really stepped it up an ran a school record of eight minutes and three seconds” Bast said about placing second place at sectionals.
Bast was thought to run into some trouble with a stress fracture in his leg yet that didn’t stop him and his teammates from making OHS History. Bast thinks with state coming up that “ top three is a realistic goal.”
Let’s hope he is right when they compete at state in Jeff City the 27-28 of May.
