Sophomores get recognized

Katie Reed (10) looks for a pitch to hit on Oct. 2 against Lafayette.

Post season awards have already been given out. Two students, Katie Reed (10) and Jordan Michalski (10), were given the honor of all state.

Reed made second team all state as an infielder this year, along with first team all region, first team all district, and first team all conference.

“I feel honored because there are so many players in the district and I’m only a sophomore,” said Reed.

Michalski made first team all state as a utility player, first team all state, first team all district, first team all region and all conference.

“I was honestly shocked. I wasn’t positive I would get that high of an honor,” said Michalski.

Coach Rich Sturm is exceptionally proud of how Reed and Michalski did this season.

“It’s a huge honor for our program and for the kids,” Sturm said, “They’re great leaders and will help the team for the next two years.”
