Ten girls from the OHS girl’s swim team returned to the Rockwood Summit Invite for their final swims on Jan. 10. Some of the swimmers included Alex Books (11), Morgan Hoffman (11), Shannon McFarland (9).

The team was hoping to medal many of the girls, meaning that they must have finished within the top eight. This is how the swimmers finished:

200 Medley Relay: Amanda Schlaker (12), Mykenzee Munaco (9), McFarland and Hoffman placed third.

200 Freestyle: Books finished second, Ally Landmann (9) placed fourth, and Madie Behnen (10) was 13th.

200 Individual Medley: McFarland ended up 4th, Munaco got ninth, Darcy Eisenreich (12) finished 16th.

50 Freestyle: Hoffman was the only to swim and placed third.

100 Butterfly: Munaco was fourth, Kristin Sazama (11) ended up eighth, Megan Dillow (12) got 15th.

100 Freestyle: Hoffman placed third, Behnen finished 16th.

500 Freestyle: Schlaker got second, Books followed with a third place finish.

200 Freestyle Relay: Books, Munaco, Sazama, and Dillow won fourth place.

100 Backstroke: McFarland got first, Landmann finished fourth, Eisenreich placed tenth.

100 Breaststroke: Schlaker won fourth, Dillow got 12th, Abby Zeltmann (10) placed 16th.

400 Freestyle Relay: Schlaker, Hoffman, McFarland, Landmann finished third.

Overall, the swim team took home fourth place. The girls will swim at Marquette on Jan. 15 at 4:15 pm.
