Field hockey loses heartbreaking game on senior night

The OHS field hockey team played their hearts out in honor of the seniors last home game on October 16 against Webster Groves.

The Varsity team played a great game, going into overtime and strokes. Webster Groves won with a shot on goal during strokes (which is similar to s shootout in hockey). The score of the game was 1-0.

Senior Night was bittersweet for many. It was a time to reflect on all of the hard work and time the seniors have put into the Oakville Field Hockey team.

The team’s’ chemistry has grown tremendously over the past four years with lots of help from Head Coach, Carrie Lampe.

Varsity captain Brooke Arconati said, “We are a family now. Carrie has brought us all so close.”

This year was a memorable season, there is 11 senior girls on the team and majority of them have played all four years together.

The fans who came out and supported were definitely surprised with how well the team plays and how close all of the players have become.
