Hockey wins in impressive fashion

Despite a slow start, the tigers were able to pull off a 7-0 victory over Fort Zumwalt West in their home opener.

The first period was full of penalties from both teams. Senior forward Adam Schafer took a four minute penalty, but the Tigers were able to kill it off. With a goal coming late from defenseman Jake Faulkner (10), the Tigers were able to take a 1-0 lead going into the second.

The Tigers came out strong in the second period, netting 2 more goals to take a commanding 3-0 lead. Senior forward Lance French scored later setting him up for the hat trick.

The tigers came into the third with an offensive explosion. with an additional two goals from French, the Tigers were able to secure the 7-0 victory. Senior goaltender Blake Chapman netted the shutout.

“It was unreal to play in front of all the fans, they’re great” Chapman said, “The team played great defense so I didn’t have to do much all night, I expect us to make a deep run in the playoffs and hopefully meet our final goal.”
