With winter sports winding down, boys basketball faces its biggest rival.

On Feb.27, the boys basketball team will face Mehlville at 3 p.m. for the first round of the district playoffs. The Tigers, who finished their regular season with a 11-12 record, last faced the Panthers on Dec.18, losing a 60-59 heartbreaker. Despite losing a tough one, the team plans to push back, hoping to knock Mehlville out of the playoffs.

“I’m super excited to face Mehlville again,” said guard Andrew McChesney (12). “We had a super tough loss to them earlier in the year, but we have been working hard all year.”

If the team wins they will move on to the next round facing the winner of the Lindbergh and Fox game.

“The game plan is to bring the energy right out of the gate and we are really going to be focusing on defense this time around.” said McChesney. “We are ready to get our revenge on Saturday.”
