The most magical place on Earth hosted approximately six thousand journalism students for the Journalism Educators Association (JEA) National Convention.

On Nov 12-15, the Disney Dolphin Hotel was filled with young aspiring journalism students from across the country.

Yearbook editor Cassidy Vuylsteke said, “it’s not like some of the other National Conventions that are held in cities where there’s not much to do for kids our age… everyone loves Disney.”

Journalism students were able to attend sessions hosted by featured speakers and journalism educators. There were also competitions attendees could enter in their preferred field of journalism.

“Overall, the sessions I have sat in on have been extremely beneficial to me, because I can bring these tips and things I’ve learned back to our journalism program,” broadcast student Matt Helldoerfer stated.

Journalism students look forward to continuing the magic in their publications.
