Brakes checked, ignitors on, engine primed, Ethan Black (10) is ready for take off into the sky.

“When I was little, I saw a cockpit and I just thought it was very cool,Black said.

Everyone has a dream when they are a kid, and unfortunately most people don’t chase that dream. However, Black is doing everything he can do to do what he loves and to make that little kid’s dream come true.

“Its quite long, you need a ton of legal documents and obviously you will need to pass a test,” Black said.

One of the most precious things for many people is time, and things like tests, and pending results from departments like the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and other government organizations could waste a lot of precious time. For Black, it took him around three months to get his license. Another precious thing is money, and pursuing any career can make you sacrifice this, especially when you’re pursuing something as important as the job you want and dream of doing.

“The price is one of the biggest obstacles,” Black said. “It’s pretty expensive.”

With all his dedication to this endeavor, Black hopes to one day fly cargo planes. But the money and potential job aren’t the only things Black loves about flying. It’s the feeling and thought and the nostalgia of always wanting to be flying.

“Flying is freeing,” Black said, “since there’s nothing up there with you.”
