Dracula is back!

Dracula is back!
The OHS blood drive started up on Feb. 28.  From 8 a.m to 1 p.m, students were in Gym B shaking off the fear of the needle to give hope to those who need blood transfusions to survive.

“It’s great to see people donating.  You know that the blood being donated gives people a second chance to live,” Club Liason Dan Carter(10) said.

This student blood drive, hosted by Student Council, will benefit children in the Saint Louis area through the Mississippi Regional Blood Center.  Members of Stuco helped out by checking students in, carrying blood, and providing food and drinks.

“Every unit of blood saves three lives, and our goal is to get around 135 units,” Carter said.

Teachers, faculty, and parents also have the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives at the community blood drive.

The community blood drive takes place on March 6 in Gym B at OHS.  Scheduled appointments are not required, and anyone can come in between 3 p.m to 7 p.m.  Any past donors of this year, will not be able to donate at this drive if they had given any blood after Jan. 10.

Be sure to come and donate!!
