OHS boys volleyball take two of three sets against Vianney

OHS boys volleyball take two of three sets against Vianney
After dropping two straight matches this weekend to CBC and St. Louis University High (SLUH), the OHS boys volleyball team rebounded with a hard fought win over rival Vianney Tuesday night (April 3).
The Tigers took advantage of Vianney early, winning the first game 25-23 of a best of three match. However the Tigers weren’t able to repeat their performance in the second game as Vianney pulled out a 25-22 win. This set up a decisive third game in which OHS was just slightly better. They were down by as many as four points but rebounded and came out victorious, 25-22.
“It was such a big win for us,” Jake Duckworth (11) said. “It just showed how relentless we can be.”
Duckworth was crucial in the win, scoring points for OHS exactly when they needed it most. He currently sits at number six in kills for the St. Louis metro area. Other players that performed well in the win were Austin Bennett (12), and Matt Seebeck (11).
“We were so pumped up, and the crowd was great,” Seebeck said. “It was a really big win for us.”
The win pushes the Tigers’ record to 6-2 on the year. Their next home match is Tuesday, April 10 against Parkway South.
