Tennis looking to rebound after rough start

Adam Pleimann (12) hits the ball against Lutheran South on April 17.

The OHS tennis team has struggled so far with an 0-3 record to start the year. The loss of number one player, Messy Dedic (12), does not help either. Despite the losses, the Tigers are steadily improving everyday.

“We need to work on our technical skill, and our new coach ( Mr. Nick Jannett) helps us with that part of our game,” Adam Pleimann (12) said.

Jannett takes over for longtime head coach Linda Gebauer. She coached the tennis team for 11 seasons. It will take some time for the players to get used to the new coach.

“He brings a lot of experience to this team,” Alex Marty (12) said.

The Tigers are currently 3-5 with an impressive win over Farmington 7-2 on April 24.

“Every match we battle win or loss,” Jannett said.

The Tigers next game is April 30 against Eureka at 3:30 pm.

“The players leave it all on the court,” Jannett said.
