JV basketball comes up short in home opener

On Tuesday, Dec. 9 the JV boys basketball team faced off against SLUH for the first time in recent history. The boys won the tip off and started their first home game strong.

At the end of the first quarter Oakville was down 19-11 but stayed focused and continued to fight. At halftime the score was 25-15 in favor of SLUH. OHS was unable to come back, losing 50-34. However, this loss did not put a damper of the Tigers’ spirit.

“Even though we lost, we are still optimistic about the rest of the season,” said Dylan Ochoa (9), a swing player for the JV and varsity level. “We just need to work on executing our plays and making sure we run the right plays as often as possible as well as hustling more on defense.”

The JV boys basketball team next plays at Fox on Dec. 16 at 5:30 p.m.
