The tigers pulled out an overall win on Sept. 16, defeating Mehlville 6-3. However, that was not what made the day special for the team.

On Wednesday, the OHS girls tennis team had their senior night. Many of the girls had different emotions and thoughts towards their game. Everyone knew that it was their night and they were going to try their best.

“I’m a little emotional tonight because I have coached most of these girls for three years. I am so happy that they will get a lifetime of learning from being on the tennis team,” Coach Bill Ebert said. Their coach has stated that he is really proud of how far they have came and cannot wait to see what their future has for them.

Over the past few years, many girls say they have built friendships that will last forever.

“I am so excited that I get to take on this game with my best friends, Bailey Foster and Kate Giles,” Rachel Kendrick (12) said.

“I can’t believe it is actually our senior night but it has been a blast playing with my best friends for four years now,” said Foster (12).

To prepare for the senior night, the underclassman made posters to hang on the fence and surprised the seniors by decorating their lockers.

“I was a little nervous to play number 63 in the Midwest but I knew I had my team by myside,” Kate Giles (12) said. “Our senior night was great with all the support from the underclassman, friends, and family.”
