Despite last season’s injury, OHS track star Favor Operaji (12) is optimistic about her final season.

Operaji suffered from a hamstring injury last season, which occurred at a Webster meet toward the end of April, right before districts.

“When I was running in the 100 meter I felt a little pain in my leg but just shook it off, then I was running the 200 meter and had sharp pain my leg, when I got to the finish line I couldn’t even get up,” she said.

Operaji is the top-returning senior this season and has been part of track at Oakville since her freshman year. She also started running on an AAU team, the St. Louis Blues track team, the summer after her sophomore year. What puts Favor at the top is her impressive times; she can run a 100 meter in 12.6 seconds, 200 meter in 25 seconds, and 400 meters in 101 seconds.

Favor will be running in the track meet on April 8 at the Fox invitational.
