Basketball fans of all ages crowded the stands at OHS for the varsity boys basketball home opener on Dec. 5.

The fans were pleased with what they saw as the Tigers used their depth to beat Pattonville 60-44.

“We won this game because we have a deep and talented bench,” head coach Nick Traxler said. “We have 10 plus guys that can contribute every night and love to play the game together.”

The boys took the lead midway through the first quarter and held it the rest of the game. The startling line up of Mark Pinner (12), Brenden Gillmann (12), Dylan Ochoa (12), Dylan Portell (12), and Joe Beardsley (10) led the way.

Gillmann led the top scorers with 19 points while Beardsley followed with 13 and Portell close behind with seven.

“It felt great to get a quality team win on our home opener,” Pinner said. “Especially with a solid fan section.”

The next home game is Tuesday, Jan. 16 against Lafayette at 7p.m.
