The OHS varsity boys volleyball season recently came to a close after a tough loss against Lutheran South. The team played their final match of the season in the District Championship tournament on Wednesday May 16 at Parkway Central. The first set had a final score of 25-21 and the boys came up short in the second set with a close score of 25-22.

“It was pretty upsetting seeing the season end so unexpectedly because we were hoping to make it a lot farther than we did,” said Varsity co-captain Jackson Klump (12). “It is sad to see the season end because that was one of the most fun volleyball teams I’ve ever played on.”

The boys were pleased with their 2017-2018 season ending with a 11-16 record. Through hard work and a great team chemistry, the boys were able to end with a successful season and high hopes for next year.

“The end of the season is always sad. I thought the boys played really well in Districts, “ Varsity coach Mrs. Jessica Betz commented. “We were obviously looking for a different outcome, to return to state for the third year in a row, but Lutheran South beat us.”
