Understanding Law students meet the real world
Speaker Hardin-Tammons visits to discuss the road to success
Understanding Law students learned the road to success this week.
Attorney and Provisional Judge, Ms. Renée Hardin-Tammons, visited OHS on Oct. 15 to speak to the Understanding Law classes.
“I spoke to them about my road to becoming an attorney and a judge,” Hardin-Tammons said.
Hardin-Tammons spoke about her life growing up as well as the responsibilities the titles of attorney and judge hold. Students were free to ask questions and learn even more. She told students that if they set their mind to something and strive for that, they will succeed.
“It’s very important to have people who are actually in the profession come in and talk to the students… It’s great to see a different perspective from someone who actually does what we [OHS Teachers] teach about,” Mrs. Katie Kasper said.
In the Understanding Law classes, students are learning about the elements and inner workings of the judicial system.
“Everything she said is pretty much everything we’ve been learning in class so far,” said Jason Allen (12), an Understanding Law student.
