Certain teachers are taking a different approach on their teaching styles this school year.

Sarah Hartmann, along with 15 other teachers are apart of the Discovery Education Innovators. The three year program focuses on getting teachers to think differently about their teaching approach.  

“We focus on STEM which for us means “Students and Teachers Engaging Minds,” said Hartmann.

Each teacher gets a personal coach that comes in every month to help plan lessons and bounce ideas off of other teachers.

“She is terrific and is so helpful in planning lessons,”  said Hartmann, “we also go to a few full day trainings throughout the school year with all the innovators from OHS.”

Although it is still early on, the teachers are already starting to see a difference in their classrooms.
