Peyton Kern (9) is a multi-sport athlete who is in all honor classes and still maintains a good schedule for sports and school. Kern plays softball, basketball and soccer all around the same time.
“I got into these sports because my parents showed me and my friends showed me and invited me to their team,” Kern said.
Kern loves playing these sports and making so many connections with other people. Kern has been playing these sports for her whole life and she wants to continue playing until college. She believes she is also very good at time management due to how her parents have helped her.
“My parents helped me balance sports and school by helping me manage my time with my homework and sports,” Kern said.
Kern’s parents have helped her a lot through being a multi-sport athlete. Even though she has a lot of help multi-managing, she still has some challenges she faces during these times.
“[The most challenging part of being a multi-sport athlete is] having time to balance homework, sports and other activities,” Kern said.
Kern still loves playing sports even though some can be time-consuming.
“I think basketball is the most time-consuming [sport],” Kern said.
Even though sometimes time management is hard, Kern still loves having new experiences and meeting new people from playing a lot of sports.
“[I like playing a lot of sports because] it always keeps me looking forward to something after the school day has ended,” Kern said.
Additionally, Kern has experienced many skills being able to multi-task at her home and at school.
“I try to get all my homework done in ANP so I have time at home to rest and then do my sports,” Kern said.
Kern appreciates all the help she gets from her friends and family, as well as the help from the coaches of the sports she plays.
“I love being a multi-sport athlete because it always keeps me entertained,” Kern said. “I’m busy, and I get to make connections with lots of people.”
