The 2018-2019 school year ended on Tuesday, May 28. Less than a week later, the Class of 2019 walked across the stage at graduation.

The school held its graduation ceremony June 2 at St. Louis University’s Chaifetz Arena. This was the first time OHS has held graduation at this facility.

The audience heard speeches from Sam Gandhi, student body president; Morgan Murphy, valedictorian; and Nathan Long, salutatorian. This was also the last year OHS Building Principal Jan Kellerman presided over the ceremony. She is retiring after 19 years at OHS, the last eight as head principal.

After the graduation ceremony, the now OHS alumni attended a lock-in. The All-Night Graduation at The Lodge Des Peres featured a swimming pool, games, a fortune teller, and other fun activities as one last farewell for the seniors.

“I know it’s cheesy but high school is something I will never forget,” said graduate Makayla Slavik. “I’m going to miss walking those halls.”

Many of these students are looking to turn the page on their high school years and start a new chapter.
