This is Caitlin Knipp’s (11) artwork that got selected into the Soulard Art Market.

Three artists, Amy Hughes (12), Caitlin Knipp (11), and Brianna Quinn (10) are being featured in the Soulard Art Market’s exhibit called The Next Generation, opening April 12 at 7 am.

Hughes will have two pictures features, Claws and Ronnie in Fountains. Claws is a black and white photos with colored areas while Ronnie in Fountains is a digitally combined photo. Knipp will have one artwork, Racing with Man’s Best Friend, another digitally combined picture. Lastly, Quinn will also have one artwork, Bridge in Water, digital photo. Knipp and Quinn were also included the Sheldon Art Exhibit with different pieces.

“They (the artists) aren’t in my class, so I can’t hound them about entering. However, I sent out an email to all my past photography students about the opportunity. They took the initiative to put their work in the exhibit, and it paid off,” photography teacher Joan Larson said.

The whole exhibit, including the four from our artists, will be at 12th and Russell across from McGurk’s in Soulard. The exhibit will be up until May 3. The hours of the building are Thursday and Friday from 6pm to 10pm and Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 6pm.

“I always say that you if you don’t enter, you can’t win,” Larson said.
