The OHS band has just released their show theme for the upcoming marching season: Angelic.

The show will showcase themes of a guardian angel with symbols of devotion, hope, and love.

“Last year’s show, and shows in the past, was dark, so now we’re diving into the something lighter with hope and angels,” said assistant director Mr. Theron Perkowski.

Similar to last year’s show, the guard and band will be integrated together and dancing during the ballad of the show.

“I think the ballad has the potential to be the best ballad yet,” said Perkowski.

However, next fall’s show is 7 minutes and 30 seconds, a minute and a half longer than last year’s show. With a longer show, more problems can arise.

“I think that the whole show, including the length is just going to improve our program. It’ll be hard, but it’s going to be worth it,” said Sophie Kettenbrink (10).

With the program continually improving, the band is going to bigger and better competitions this year.

“The staff has been working many hours to make sure that we are set up for success as we push into bigger caliber shows this year like Bands of America Iowa,” said Perkowski.  “One thing is for sure, this show will be unforgettable.”
